We are participating in ISOPOL 2024! !
You always want to share something that is very important to you and today is the day!
We are very glad to be attending to the 21st International Symposium on Problems of Listeria and Listeriosis (ISOPOL) 2024 in Norwich, UK!
We are very happy that we participate not only as listeners in this meeting, but also as participants presenting the topic «Accredited sampling according to ISO 18593: tool for Listeria monocytogenes in the food chain environment».
It seems nothing new, although accredited analyses are no longer a novelty, accredited environmental sampling is an uncommon service on the market. Environmental samples are part of the producer’s internal control and risk assessment program for maintaining good hygiene and food safety under production. ISO 18593 contains guidelines for how this process should be carried out, but this is a challenging process.
Why sampling?
Correct sampling is one of the most important factors affecting a reliable result.
Why accredited?
Independent and accredited sampling brings verified benefits for businesses and consumers; a possibility to document compliance with requirements for food hygiene and safety.
Why Listeria?
Food safety criteria for Listeria monocytogenes (LM) in ready‐to‐eat (RTE) foods have been applied since 2006 (Commission Regulation (EC) 2073/2005). There is increasing focus on LM as a problem, as the number of cases of listeriosis has not decreased. Today after almost twenty years later, this requirement is on review for RTE and planned to be changed in 2026 (https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/13003-Listeria-monocytogenes-in-ready-to-eat-foods-update-of-safety-criteria_en).
